Went out to lunch yesterday in North Melbourne and saw this commotion outside Sumo Japanese Restaurant. The police with their divvy van (see photo) were at the scene with the owner checking out some damage done to the premise.
Apparently some truck must've gotten too close while driving along the narrow laneway and hit one of the air-conditioning units that were hanging on the wall. The whole unit had fallen off its bracket and dangling precariously but still attached to the wall via its cables and tubes!
Here's a better angle, have a look at that! The other one must've got hit as well but didn't fall but from the look of things the driver of the van is in for some pretty expensive lesson learnt here today! Hope his insurance policy is all paid up!
