On the 3rd part of the Commonwealth Games Open Day, I take you to the State Netball & Hockey Centre.Entrance to the centre, this centre will host the hockey and preliminary netball matches for the Commonwealth Games next year.
The hockey pitches have been replaced with new surfaces to offer a superior level of play and reduce injuries from falls.
The improvements also incorporate some unusual environmental features including an Australian-first water recycling system.
This is the main netball court where major events for the netball games will be held.
There are already some athletes practising in some of the other courts.
As always there are entertainers like these hippie-styled drummers.
And I get to have my picture taken with Karak the Games Mascot!
In my next post I'll take you to the last part of the Commonwealth Games Open Day; the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Albert Park. See you then!
