Some of you may not be celebrating Easter like me, here's a lenglui I put together for you! I can't remember her name but she plays one kick-ass shamisen. Shamisens are 3 string guitar like musical instruments from Japan played like a guitar but not quite sound like one.
I first saw her strumming her shamisen one year ago at last year's Japanese Festival and I'm glad to see her again at the Osaka Festival last month. With the help of her lenglui friend they played sweet haunting musics.
The final piece was played with the help of another shamisen player and the taiko drummer featured in my Wadaiko Rindo post last month. Great music! You have to listen to it to believe it so please do. Watch the video below;P/S: I found out that they make the shamisen from dog & cat's skin! Ahhhhh!!!
