World Environment Day

Did you know that last Sunday was World Environment Day? Since our planet is getting more and more polluted everyday, I thought I do something good for the environment for a change.

I went down to Trin Warren Tam-Boore Wetland park where not long ago it was just a wasteland but has been brought back to life by proper land and water management.

It was the official opening of the wetland park and the Lord Mayor John So was there with a few other dignitaries to officially open it.

There was plenty of activities for the day and the most important one was to help plant some local indigenous plants for the park. Everyone is encouraged to participate, all you need to do is to register before they assign you to an area.

There were still a lot of planting to be done and what a great way to help spend World Environment Day than to plant some native faunas so as to do your bit for the environment!

The Rotary Club was there to provide free BBQ sausages and burgers for everyone. After a couple of hours of planting you'll be glad for the free lunch!

And everyone got to take home a native plant too! So do your bit for your environment, plant a native plant which helps maintain your local environment. If everyone do their bit for the environment, we will help keep the environment healthy for the next generation.


Well that was a small step towards a healthier environment that everyone can do but if you are serious about our global environment, you can join in the rally that was going on in the city marching in the streets against logging and deforestation where you can find all the greenies, tree-huggers, environmentalists, eco-warriors, green peace activists and hippies!

So go tell your governments to stop clearing your forests! There'll be none left in just a few years! Yeah right..tell that to the Sarawak government..fat chance!
