Walking With Dinosaurs

I saw these dinosaurs a year ago at the Commonwealth Games Festival and now I heard they're back again this year at the FINA Festival so I just had to see them again. They're way cool!

Before the show started they brought out a baby dinosaur for everyone to see and pet. The baby dinosaur is so cute and cuddly and was carried by the keeper in a pouch. All the kids were fascinated by it including the biggest kid there, me!

Next they brought out a Leptictidium, a small prehistoric mammal from the Cretaceous Period. They were wide spread across Europe and North America but died out around 40 million years ago. Lucky we still have one today!

Next came the Leaellynasaura, a small herbivore dinosaur also from the Cretaceous Period in the southern part of Australia when it was close to the Antarctic. With the long dark winters they developed large eyes to enable them to see in the dark.

Here you can see the keeper trying to keep it calm because it gets startled easily by the excited children wanting to touch it and feed it straws from the ground. And while the keeper was telling us more about this fascinating dinosaur...

...a big Allosaurus sneaked up from behind everyone and gave everyone a scare of their lifes! All the kids were screaming and hanging onto their parents as the predatory dinosaur clambered into the crowd amidst the screaming children.

There were mayhem everywhere and the keeper tried hard to subdue the beast. Not so easy since it's hungry and doesn't help that it's a carnivore as well! And still the children screamed and screamed. Lots of nightmares tonight.

But finally the keeper managed to calm down the Allosaurus and all seems to be alright now. No one was hurt so we can continue with the show...

...but suddenly the Allosaurus brought free of the keeper's control and started lunging at the crowd again, growling and showing it's razor sharp teeth hoping to catch a bite to eat!

It's all out of control! Everyone's panicking and this agitated the dinosaur even more, it was swinging it's mighty tail here and there and knocked my camera off. This is the last picture I took of it as it charged towards me! What will happen next? Watch the video below to find out...
