Monday being a Labour Day public holiday in Melbourne I went down to the city to check out the Moomba Parade. This year Moomba coincides with the Commonwealth Games so the fun fair would have to be scrap giving way to the Games.
However the parade is still going ahead so I'm not dissapointed. First up was these creatures from an alien planet I think.
Follows by these men riding these poor birds. By the way I have to leave out a lot of them else this would be a long long post!
Some jazz players on a swan? I should've got a copy of the itinerary which they were giving out before the parade coz now I don't know what I'm talking about!
But I do know this one, its a celebration of 150 years of the 8 hour work day by members of the trade unions..I think.
These are some greenie, hippie, tree-huggers, flower-power happy people (high on weed).
Here's Treebeard and his Ent friends from The Lord Of The Rings!
The Play School trailer! Play School is an Australian children TV program and all kids here know it! They have a theme song that goes; There's a bear in there..and a chair as well..
Giant chicks. Don't know what the story is so I can't tell you much about them, sorry!
These are jelly fishes made with unbrellas, aren't they cool? I think its a clever idea.
I just have to get the belly dancers in it! Suitaupui, this is for you!
Last group is the chinese community with their lion dances, drums, mythical creatures and...
...Tai Loong! Its the longest dragon in Australia and possibly the southern hemisphere. Sorry I have to cut it short, there's just too many to fit in one tiny post.
