Darebin & Kites Festival

For the first time the Darebin Festival and the Annual Festival of Kites have come together at All Nations Park in Northcote.
This festival reflects the diversity of the people living in Darebin. There are community cultural celebrations involving people from all backgrounds in the areas.

This is the first time the Kites Festival is held here, I've never seen so many colourful pretty kites in one place before! It brought back childhood memories of kite-flying in Sibu where we always 'kite fight' each other by putting powdered glass glued to the string to make it 'sharp' so it can cut the string off the opponent's kite!

There was a lion dance on when we got there but these 2 lions were very lame. They look like they haven't eaten for days coz they were not very acrobatic like the ones we've seen during the CNY.

Oh..I just love looking at the different types of kites they have flying in the sky! Aren't they pretty?

Check out the hot grannies! I don't know what their performance was coz we got there late but I'm sure they were a hit with the older men!

Oo..more kites, did I tell you that I love kites?

Here's a colourful figure at the festival, he just walks around trying to be funny but failing miserably. Well, maybe the kids love him and thought him funny.

Check out this round kite, bit like a 'Stargate". I wouldn't mind one of those..nah! No time to play with kites anymore.

There were community stalls all over the park like the Yarra Valley Water stall, Commonwealth Games Information stall and Preston Photography Club stall to name just a few.

And did I mentioned there's a kite festival on too? I did? Sorry but I just can't get enough of them!

My house area is not windy enough or because that kite was hand made by me that's why cannot fly. LOL
