Leela Wadee

Terese and I found a gem in North Melbourne called Leela Wadee. Its a little Thai restaurant nestled on the corner of Chetwynd & Queensberry Streets.

Leela Wadee in Thai means frangipani, the type of fragrant flower on the signboard. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and we've been there twice for lunch this month already.

Inside is a small but cosy little diner with colourful walls decorated with Thai decors. They also have more rooms upstairs which I didn't get the pleasure to check out yet.

The restaurant is owned by this very friendly Thai lady whom I've totally forgotten her name because I'm really bad in remembering Thai names!

I ordered the Cashew Chicken stir-fried with vegetables and served with rice. It was so good, I have to give it a 2 thumbs up!

Terese had the Pad Thai noodles stir-fried with beef in tamarind sauce. This is another winner so its also gets a 2 thumbs up!

We were quite happy the first time around that we went back again not long after that day. Terese had the Pad Thai again but I wanted to try the Thai Fried Rice which is different from your usual fried rice but tasted so much better. Its fried with your choice of meat (I chose beef) and cashew nuts, pineapples and carrots.

This is another restaurant you need to keep in mind should you come to Melbourne and you crave for some Thai foods.
