Melbourne In Lockdown

Melbourne is in lockdown! With the Commonwealth Games just a couple of days away, it is absolutely chaotic on Melbourne streets.

There are road blocks everywhere and I've never seen so many police and private security personels in town before, all for the Games security. During the days there are helicopters flying above everyday, traffic jams all over town and all because of the Commonwealth Games. Isn't it exciting!

Remember that post I did on the 'fishes' along the Yarra river? Well on Friday night they were having a final rehearsal just to make sure everything is working according to plans. The medias especially the TV stations were banned from that section of the river so they can't leak out what's in store for the rest of the world! But you get see it here first on this blog!

We went on top of Prince Phillips Bridge hoping to get a good view of the rehearsal but there were guards there to tell people to move away! What the? I'm not the media, the general public are allowed to view it, photograph it and even to video it as long as its not shown on TV (they didn't mention Blogs).

I managed to find a good spot down by the river to watch the rehearsal. There were light shows with water fountains spraying from the fishes and the lights changes with the music blaring away. It was quite spectacular but after a while gets a bit boring. I think on the real day when the show goes according to schedule it will be different and more spectacular because the whole world will be watching!

Sorry for the bad quality of my picture but you should get an idea what it looks like with the water fountain creating a misty 'wall' so the projector on the bank of the river can project images and patterns onto it with the lights changing colours according to the music.

Check out the video clip yourself, remember you saw it first here at wuching.blogspot.com!

Ha ha ha! In response to Quo Vadis' comment, he must be dying to know Amelia's true identity...and then, he can serenade to her "THREE TIMES A LADY". Step aside, jeremyc! Bet u can't bulldoze QV out of the way!

STP: looks like there's going to be a duel..who r u betting on to win? put some money in for me if u r betting..

Anonymous said...

HAHAHA.. I reserve my comment at this time, just wanted to say...I think the duel is off as Amelia seems to be rather miffed with JC's attitude at the moment...

Wuching, in reply to your comment, errr... just a tribute to the mysterious and alluring Amelia with the Wonderful pictures....
