Quick weight loss

There are a lot of people wanting to lose weight fast just to fit into a dress or to show off to their old classmates on that all important reunion day. I’m sceptical about losing weight too fast; I don’t think that’s a good way of doing it. It might have an adverse effect on your health or you might just put that weight back on as fast as you lost it. So no quick weight loss program for me thank you.

Dreaming of Malaysia

Its been a few years since I last went back to Malaysia. I've been wanting to go back again but never seems to find time to go. My mother and others keep asking me to go back but I just don't have any time to do it since we've started this business. If we go one holidays there's no one to look after the business and we might loose our customers if we send them elsewhere when we're on holidays. Running your own business is damn hard.

Best acne treatment

I’m not one that gets bad acne but every now and then I would get a couple here and there. The best acne treatment I found is actually something not made for it. It’s Vicks vapourup! Yes I couldn’t believe it at first but after the first try I’m a believer. Terese put me up to it and now whenever I have an acne I go for my Vicks vapourup.

Goodness me

I bought a Japanese Iris in summer which I put in my wine barrel pond. It was doing well until now when the cold weather has settled in. The leaves are turning yellow and flopping over and I don't know what could've done that. So I did some searches on the net for this plant and I found that you're supposed to take them out of the water in autumn and winter or else the roots will rot! Goodness me, glad I found out about it now so I've take it out of the pond.

RV repair

Thinking of getting an rv so we can go fishing on long weekends and do other things with the convenient of sleeping in our rv than booking into expensive accommodations. I saw a second hand one which looks quite enticing but it does need a little work. Just a little rv repair and I think she’ll be right. I think I’ll go see the owner tomorrow and see how much he wants for it.

We shall see

I need a haircut again, it's been 6 weeks already since I had my last haircut? Anyway I need another one now and I was hoping to get it done today but we're busy with work and I'm not sure I can do it. I might, see how it goes. I may have to go there myself. Usually Terese comes with me so she can go to the library there. We shall see.

Unique gifts for her

I drag Terese’s birthday, anniversary or any other days when I have to find a gift for her. You see she’s very fuzzy with her gifts; I can never get her the gifts she likes. She’s very hard to please and sometimes she’s not even happy with what she buys herself! The I found this place where I think I can get unique gifts for her that she would definitely like.

Office makeover

We've just had an office makeover; we changed all our computers to the new ones and changed the settings and moved the furniture around. Its finished now and it looks good, Terese calls it an office makeover but more importantly it has to be easy for us to work in. I think it is and I think it is efficient use of space. I think we will keep it this way for a while.

Careers

When I finished school I didn’t quite know what to do with myself. Back then we didn’t have help like we do now where you can go for help on finding the choices of careers school leavers have. My grade wasn’t good enough to go to University and I didn’t have the guidance to choose a trade that I could use for the rest of my career life. But I’m glad my life turned up quite good I must say.

Good business

Well its the weekend again but it won't be much of a weekend for us because work has pick up again after a fairly quiet month. Its a good thing but it also mean we're going to have to work long hours and right into the weekends just to keep up. Don't want to risk a burnout but on the other hand its good business.

Most effective diet pills

Seems like I’m forever looking for that miracle pills that would magically zap my fat away and give me a body to be envious by others. But so far I have no luck finding ones that work. Where can I find the most effective diet pills out there? There’re so many on the market all claiming to help you but how can I be absolutely sure?

Last day of training.

Well today's the last day of training. I hope the instructor turns up though, she does have a habit of forgetting her appointments and postponing them. We agreed on today last week so I just hope she put it down in her diary. It's been a long time since we started training and I just want to get it over and done with. Beside training she also need to bring the license and installation disc for the older version of the programs so I can install them on my new PC. Now I'm just waiting for her to show up.

Best fat burning exercise

Some people like exercising vigorously. I’m no such people, in fact I’ll work up a sweat just looking at people exercising! Yes I know I’m bad at it, I need to get off my butt and work out more. Got to get rid of some of this extra fat around my waist. I need to know the best fat burning exercise so I can just concentrate on that and forget about the rest. Would that be enough for me to keep fit?

One term government

From the way things are going it looks like the current government is going to loose the election this year. This is going to be the one term government, something not seen in this country. At least I've never seen it. When the Labor government took power back in 97 the economy was at its best and though the previous government was considered harsh in border security we managed to keep the illegals from coming. Then everything went wrong once the Labor government took over, we see it in the boat people, the bungled insulation program and the ETS. The only card this government can hope to gain some favor with the voters is that they managed to keep the country away from the GFC. Other than that they have nothing to show for.

Urban clothes

When it comes to clothing I prefer casual clothes to formal wears. It just makes me feel more comfortable and confident. There are some really nice urban clothes that I like out there and I think it’s time I go do some shopping for clothes. That’s the other thing about me; I’m lazy when it comes to buying clothes! Usually the missus gets them for me; I hope she gets the ones I like.

A great day

Yesterday was Mothers Day and we spent the day at the Mother-In-Law's place. Everyone was there and we all brought food for steamboat. Heng was in charge of bringing meat, Cecily in charge of veg and we the stuffed tofu. Well that was the plan but as usual everyone bought way too much and we had too much to eat and like all asian dinners we had plenty of leftovers. So overall a great day!

Basement dehumidifier

The problem with basements is that they can get very damp and humid if you don’t take precaution to keep them clean and dry. It’s the one place in the entire house where all the plumbing are hidden so we really need to keep the humidity problem at the minimum if you care about your family’s health. Use a basement dehumidifier to get that smelly humid air out of your basement and then maybe you can even use it as an extra room!

Silly me

I thought I was pretty good with technology and can deal with most computer related issues than most average people. I was wrong; yesterday I stuffed up the computer I was trying to install Windows XP on. Originally the PC came with Windows Vista and I had to remove it and install XP on instead because I want to use this PC for running the programs we use at work. Little did I know that with new technology of SATA drives which are very different with the older IDE drives I completely bugger up the hard drive when I deleted the partitions on it. So now I have to wait till Sunday when we'll see my brother-in-law to get it fixed since he's a tech by trade.

Woohoo! I've won tickets to see Iron Man 2 at Crown tonight! Got a call from a girl from Paramount Pictures late last night telling me I've won so I'll be going to the premiere screening of this much anticipated movie at Crown Village at 7 tonight. Its been a while since we went to premiere screenings, we used to win tickets very frequently but lately we haven't won anything until now.

How long has it been since the last Iron Man movie? Maybe I should watch the first one again before watching the second one. I know I have a copy of the first movie somewhere, just have to go find it. Now where could it be..

Flowers that mothers love

It’s nearly that time of the year again; mother’s day. So time to get something really nice for her and don’t forget to get her flowers. Not just any flowers, has to be flowers that mothers love and don’t be stingy about it either! We only have one mother and it’s only one day in a year so it’s time to spoil her silly.

I received a letter from my supplier reminding me about my 2nd installment to them. So I decided to call them to ask them about the credit note I'm supposed to get from them for the 4 small invoices that we agreed on. Of course their accountant knows nothing about it so I told her to talk to her boss since it was him who promised me the credit note. This is so annoying, I told her I'm not paying the installment until the credit note has been issued. So there!

Chicago auto repair

When it comes to auto service and auto repair, which I have no clue of, I’m glad I have a friend who’s in the industry. That’s why I always bring my cars to him instead of other mechanics simply because he will not try to rip me off. I’ve heard terrible things about dodgy mechanics preying on people like me. So it’s good to know that I’m in good hands.

My mechanic always does a thorough job whenever I bring my Toyota Camry in for a service. He’ll treat my car like his own taking time to go through all the process carefully so as not to miss out on anything and he’s always cautious to me even though we’ve known each other for years. I don't have to remind him to check engine light, he'll do everything before I can think of anything. So next time you need a mechanic go to Chicago auto repair and tell him I sent you there and he’ll look after you.

What a shame

A well know criminal got murdered in jail recently. Nothing unusual right? These things happen all the time in prison but it takes a well known criminal's murder to highlight the lack of security in our prison system. There are currently 3 investigations into this incident. Heads must roll over this lack of security. If it wasn't for the CCTV the murderer would have gotten away with murder. Took the guards 20 minutes to find out the man's dead! What a shame.

Supplements

I’m not the type to take supplements. Some of my friends do it regularly but I’m too lazy to do that. In fact if I can survive without food I’ll be happy! Too lazy to eat or take supplements for my own health. I’m just terrible when it comes to my health. No wonder my wife tells me off all the time regarding this issue.

2nd day

Today's the 2nd day of Lectra software training. Last week the trainer said we'll have it today but she said she'll email and confirm with us this week. So far I've not heard from her. I never got a call back from her on Monday when I left a message for her to call back last Friday. This trainer is bad when it comes to people skill but she's good with the software so I'll let her go this time.

Joint pain

Once I thought I’d never grow old and I’ll live forever in my youth. Yeah dream on! Nowadays I can feel my body giving up. I feel pain here and there especially joint pain on elbows. Not good, I need to do something about it. I refuse to go down like this so I’m going to seek help so I’ve already made an appointment to see my doctor. I’m hoping for a miracle cure here but I wouldn’t keep my hopes up.

My embarrassing problem

What I'm about to tell you is rather embarrassing. You see I have a problem; it's a skin condition where I'd break up in hives every now and then. It's some kind of allergic reaction to what I don't know but I noticed that the hives come back to the same areas of my body when it breaks out and it also then to happen when there's a change in weather or season. I take anti-histamine and use lotion to help cope but it never goes away.

I’ve heard of colon cleansing but never had it before. I wonder if it’s any good like what I’ve heard from some people I know who’s had it. Some of them swear by it but I’m skeptical. I think I need to do a bit more research on it. I’m going to read more about colon cleanser reviews that are available out there and I’ll make up my mind then.

We are all humans

Silly me. I fell for the oldest trick in the book; downloading a dodgy executive file AND opening it! So obviously the computer got infected and Windows wouldn't even start. Tried everything I know how but in the end I had to do a drastic format and restore. This goes to show it doesn't matter how much you know about technology or how cautious you are, we are all humans and as humans we do stupid things like what I did yesterday and had to spend all day fixing it.

Security cameras

I’ve always had this problem with possums eating my roses in the middle of the night. There are telltale signs that indicate the possums are the culprit but I’ve never actually saw one. I think what I need is night vision cameras to be set up in the backyard to capture these pests but I don’t know where to start. Maybe I should start looking at places that sell security cameras; if they can’t help me then they might be able to point me in the right direction.

Who the hell is Justin Bieber? Until yesterday I've never heard of this name. Now he's playing outside Channel 7's Sunrise program studio in Sydney in front of thousands of screaming teenagers. In the world of show biz and entertainment it is not hard to achieve fame nowadays thanks to the internet and YouTube.

Justin Bieber is a 16 year old kid from Canada who's shot to fame for his singing. I heard his mentor is Usher and using the power of YouTube he's managed to reach his fans quicker than bushfire. But then again it is just as fast to fade into oblivion when the next best thing comes along.

Spirometer

I have a friend who has a very sick child at home. I went to see him the other day and met his family including the poor kid. His room is like a hospital ward; there are medical equipments all over the place like spirometer, inhaler and things I can’t even put names to them. What can you do with a sick child? You just have to love him the best you can.

Money well spent

I finally got to meet Peter from Lectra yesterday. We spoke on the phone a few times but had never met until yesterday. He came over with some paper for me to sign. We're buying some upgraded programs from him for our work. It is utterly expensive but we have no choice; we have to upgrade to keep up with time and our customers and Lectra is the only people we can get their programs from. It's an investment for the business so it's money well spent.

Credit card

I’m one of those people that like using our credit cards for purchasing anything. Why wouldn’t you? You get things on credit and get reward points as well. But you have to be very disciplined and pay off the bill when it comes, or else you’ll be slugged with a hefty interest. I use my credit card for everything and anything and I always manage to pay it off before the interest kicks in. I’m a smart credit card user.

A good drenching

I've been waiting for the rain to come and it did come but in the middle of the night when I couldn't be stuffed getting up to organize anything. We did had a good downpour last night but if I was up I'd have been able to collect more rain than what we got. Oh well, its not all wasted, at least the gardens had a good drenching.

Life insurance

I’m not one to spend my hard earned money on insurance but there’s one insurance I think is worth every penny I put in and that’s my life insurance policy. It gives me a peace of mind knowing that my family will be taken care of should heaven forbids something happens to me. I’ve known friends who don’t have life insurance or don’t have enough covers and as a consequence their families have to suffer. I don’t wish that on my family nor any other family.

It better be worth it

Well its inevitable that we have to upgrade the software for our work. We've put it off for this long and now we've finally taken the step to upgrade. Its not cheap at all; has to work a long time to pay for it but we don't have a choice if we want to keep up with our competitors and keep our customers. We paid a third as deposit yesterday and will have to pay another third when the software is installed and the rest 30 days later. It better be worth it.

Protein powder

I’ve been going to the gym for 3 months now and I’m loving it. First it was hard, really hard and I ended up with aches all over my body the first day. But I persevere and now I’m getting into the routine and I’m full of energy and enjoying it very much. I need to get some protein powder supplement so I can get a killer body to show off on the beach this summer. Ladies, watch out!

So so lucky...

I nearly ran someone off the road today; some woman jogger not paying attention to where she was walking and I didn't look left before driving. What a dangerous combination, it could have ended up badly but lucky I stop the car just in time and gave her a fright instead of something worse. This is the closest I've ever come across to a serious injury so I'm thanking my lucky star that I saw her before I accelerated on the gas. So so lucky..for both of us.

Hair loss cure

You know you’re getting old when you start getting receding hairlines. Like my father before me who started getting receding hairlines, now he has a full bald head and it looks like I’ll be heading that way too. But I don’t want to follow my father in those footsteps, I want a full head of hair for as long as I live. I need to find a hair loss cure so I can step ahead of my hair loss. I need help!

So sad

I remember years ago when 17 inch CRT monitors used to cost a bomb. All we could aford were 14 inch or 15 inch CRTs. Nowadays you can't even give away the 17 inch CRTs! Almost everyday you can find them sitting outside people's houses begging to be adopted but sadly few are ever fortunate enough to find a second loving home. Now users prefer 21 inch LCD monitors so the old CRTs are all forgotten. So sad.

We go to farmers markets all the time, sometimes once a week usually on the Sundays. Today Fairfield is having its own very first farmers market and we've decided to go have a look around. Its at the Fairfield primary school which is just down the street where we live. I hope it will become a good market coz its so close to us for the convenience. Well enough talking, I have to get ready to go to market now!

Adult acne

I’m not exactly spring chicken anymore, more like summer chicken so I thought I’m over the ‘Oh no I gotta acne so I’m staying home for the rest of my life!’ dilemma. But even as a mature adult I still occasionally get adult acne every now and then. I tell myself maybe I’m still a spring chicken just to make myself feel better but seriously adult acne can be fixed quite easily so don’t let your peers tell you little boy or girl!

3 years old

Its Thursday already today, the week's gone by quick. There's a birthday to go to this weekend; it's Sang's son Sebastian's 3 year old celebration. According to the Vietnamese tradition 3 year old sons birthdays are to be celebrated in a big way. There's going to be a roasted pig among other food so it will be a big feast for all. Time to find the birthday boy a good present.

Indian Summer

I've always wondered what the term 'Indian Summer' mean. That's what people are saying about the weather in Melbourne these few days. Though we are officially into autumn the temperature is still quite warm, up to the low thirties on certain days. Well I supposed we should enjoy the warm weather while it lasts because it won't be long before it's gone for a while when the cooler weather sets in starting around next month until spring. So bring on the Indian Summer!

MBT

I try to exercise everyday but can’t do those heavy workouts so I walk daily. Some days I could walk for 2 hours when I’m up to it. I’m really wearing out my old sneakers and I think it’s time I get a proper walking shoes. A friend of mine suggested mbt shoes. It’s supposed to be very comfortable and great for walking so it’ll be perfect for me.

Weirdest weather

What a day it was yesterday; we had the weirdest weather happening yesterday around 3 in the afternoon. First we noticed the dark luminous clouds moving in, then all of a sudden the wind blew up a gale and down came golf ball size hails smashing roofs, cars and trees all over Melbourne! Then the rain followed, torrential rain flooding the streets of Melbourne stalling cars and flooding buildings. We're lucky we haven't any damages in our house and gardens.

No rain

Well I'm disappointed again; the forecast was for plenty of rain but I haven't seen much of it. In fact all I can see today is sunshine and blue sky. There's a bit of clouds around but no rain clouds. I want it to rain and water my gardens and fill up my water tanks! I don't want sunshine today, come back another day. Funny how rain is more welcome than sunshine here in this dry arid continent of ours down under.

LCD HDTV

Television has come a long way since the first day I watched it; it came in a huge heavy box and the picture was in black and white. After so many years television is still the number one ‘must have’ in every household even though the PC is catching up. Nowadays television sets come in light, stylish and flat screen like the LCD HDTV. A contrast to the old idiot box I used to sit glued to everyday.

Long weekend

It's a long weekend this weekend because Labor Day falls on the Monday. Plus Moomba Festival is also on so there's a lot going on in town. It's been a while since I went to Moomba and I wouldn't mind going again this year. Problem is parking; there's not much parking so public transport is a better option. Unfortunately I hate using public transport; it's unreliable and time consuming, not to mention inconvenient. So should I go to Moomba this year? I want to go but...wish I have someone to drop me off and pick me up when I'm done!

Used golf balls

Living right next to a golf course we tend to find at least a dozen or so golf balls in the backyard. So far we’ve been lucky we haven’t had any broken windows yet, that would be most unfortunate. After so many years we’ve collected quite a lot of used golf balls and every now and then we would sell these golf balls back to the golf course!

Last day of CNY

So we celebrated the last day of CNY with a big bang; went down to Glen Waverley where they were having a big CNY festivity going on. First time we went there for the CNY festival even though they have it every year. A bit disappointing in term of attractions, there were mainly food stalls. Well we actually went to see the niece performs on the stage. She was in 3 dances organised by the dance studio. Lucky for everyone the weather held up pretty good. There were menacing dark clouds with strong wind all day long but no rain came. I would rather it rain coz the water reserve is a bit low now.

The 15th day

Chinese New Year is almost over..come this Sunday marking the 15th day of the annual celebration. So to mark the festive day a few friends are going to gather at someone's place and probably order takeaways. How boring..I know exactly where they're going to order their food from; Jade Kingdom. Seriously I'm getting sick of Jade Kingdom's food, I'd prefer some home cooked meals. I have an idea; chicken soup with long life noodle..but the missus thinks it's going to be hard getting a big pot of chicken soup over to their place and suggested cooking the chicken dry and served with rice instead. Not my first choice but I am willing to entertain the idea.

Cholesterol treatment

I admit I’m one of those people that never bother about what I eat till it’s too late. Just been to my medical checkup and was told my cholesterol is high and I need to change my lifestyle. Indeed I need to take better care of my body because I’ve only got one. First thing first; time to lower my cholesterol. I need to find a natural cholesterol treatment to get me back on track and then I’ll start eating right and exercise more. That’s my new year resolution.

Back to the drawing board

It frustrates me when I can't get something working. I'm working on this machine to get it going with the digitizing table but so far I have no joy. Why wouldn't it work? I've got the driver for it and the program and still I can't get it working, frustration! I know it should work because I heard from the experts that it does but I just can't get it going. What am I doing wrong? Back to the drawing board.

Ultimate fat burner

I’m in a bit of a desperation when it comes to loosing weigh; yes I exercise everyday and watch what I eat but yet I find it difficult to loose the weigh. I need more, I need the ultimate fat burner but there are so many out there that clam to do just that and most of them are just out to rob me blind. I need to find one that will definitely work, I need an unbiased independent reviewer of all these products.

CNY been and gone

Well CNY is over and done with. On Saturday which was CNY eve we were invited to the in-laws for dinner. That was the most expensive invited meal all year because it costs a few red packets! The next day on the first day of CNY after eating too much meat the night before it was good that we were going to have some vegan food for the day. We had lunch with some friends in Doncaster easting mock meats. After which we wanted to see some lion dance and firecrackers but we didn't know where to find them. We just guessed that we'll see them in Box Hill so off we went but sadly we were disappointed. There was nothing there so we decided to just have coffee and cakes at Selwyn's house. And that concludes another CNY for the year.

London vacation rentals

I’ve never been to London before or the UK in general. Maybe it’s time I make the effort while I’m still young to enjoy it. I don’t have any family nor friends there so I’ll have to find some accommodation if I don’t want to sleep on the streets. Instead of hotels I’m thinking London vacation rentals that involve luxury apartments and homes to make my stay a lot more comfortable. Yes, time to start packing.

Valentine's Day & CNY

This year Valentine's Day falls on the same day as Chinese New Year's Day on the 14th of February. So what does it mean to me? Probably nothing since I don't celebrate either. Ever since I've came to Australia CNY has never lived up to the expectation you'll get from the celebration in Sibu so why bother? And Valentine's Day? Just another day the big corporations drum up to rip money off the general public I reckon!

Today we decided to slack off work and went out for a long lunch with Terese's sisters. We went to a buffet lunch down at Docklands that serve sumptuous food we don't normally eat. Because it was a weekday its cheaper at $28 per head. On a weekend it can be double that amount. Its good working for yourself that you can take time off at your own leisure.

Going on diet, exercise everyday and sticking to the strict regime is all part of my new year’s resolution to loose that extra weight I put on over Christmas. It’s very hard and I’m loosing the battle. I need help, I need the best weight loss supplement money can buy to help me through it. But there’s too many products out there that claim to be the best so where can I go to find out which is really the best?

Love the rain

Hallelujah! The rain has finally arrived! Came in the middle of the night last night twice, didn't last long though. I did managed to got downstairs at 4.30am to check it out. The bins didn't collect much but now in the morning we've just had a huge deluge that filled up all my bins and most of the containers. It has stopped again but at least I collected enough water to last me a while. Love the rain!

Weight loss pills

Losing weight is so hard; try as I might but I love food too much and exercise? Who has the motivation and discipline to go to the gym everyday to suffer the pain trying to loose that excess weight? That’s why I’d rather pop some weight loss pills and watch the pound melts away! Ha! If only it was as easy as that.

Rain rain where are you?

So where's this rain they said it was coming all weekend? I'm waiting in anticipation for the rain that they promised me but so far all I got is a few spits of rain, hardly enough to wet the ground. It is windy like they said and cloudy too. Some dark luminous clouds hanging above us but so far no healthy ground drenching rain yet. I need it to fill up my water reserve. I need it badly so I wouldn't have to use the mains water to water my veggie gardens!

Migraine treatment

I’m glad I’m not one of those people who get headache and migraine frequently. The only time I’d get headache is when I’m sick but some people get them all the time. There has to be something more serious underneath it all that causes it. There has to be a better migraine treatment than just popping an aspirin. It might be a tumor!

Bananas

I love eating bananas but they go off too quickly! Seriously, why do they go off so quickly? I buy them unripe so I hope they last a few days, first couple of days are ok, they don't ripen but then I wake up one morning and they've all ripened with dots all over them! Bumper crop

When I planted the 3 tomato plants back in spring I thought I should plant more. Now I'm thinking I should only planted 2 instead! With the warm summer and the occasional rain we've been having the plants have thrived and they're producing more tomato fruits than we can ever eat. We had to keep giving them away or else they'll just rot away. But I'm not complaining, better to have a bumper craop than none at all.

I must be getting old; my body isn't as it was years ago. I have aches everywhere, most noticeably my back. I've always had problems with my back and it radiating problems to other parts of my body like my neck, head and left shoulder. The pain is there everyday, some days better than others. It travels from the shoulder down to the top part of my left arm. Feels like muscular pain caused maybe by a pinched nerve. I've never got it checked out, maybe I should.

Christian Louboutin

Her birthday is coming up so I decided to ask her what she wants for her birthday. No more surprises because she hates my taste in picking out presents. She said Christian Louboutin shoes and I had to do a bit of research to find out what they are! I admit when it comes to clothing and shoes I am just hopeless. From now on I’ll let her pick her own presents.

Going to war

I won a small battle yesterday; the client said they couldn't pay us this week and I said it would slow their production down. They asked me how and I explained that we wouldn't be able to do their work if we don't get paid to which they said how about half payment. I put my foot down and said no, it has to be the full payment as agreed and they gave in.

No need to pop the champagne yet coz it could go the other way if not for the fact that they have some urgent work here with me. Running a business is like going to war.

AED

The company is growing bigger year after year hiring the locals in the hundreds now. To improve the safety of the employees the company is providing all medical personnel and equipments on the premises. This year we have planned to buy an AED for the factory so it can be used to save lives if needed. Some might argue it’s a waste of company’s resources but you can never put a price on your employees, they are our best resource.

Stay cool people

Looks like its going to be a hot weekend with the temperature expected to top 34C today and tomorrow. Sunday will be slightly cooler at 32C but the big one to watch out for is Monday expected to top 41C! Whatever electricity the solar panels will be generating will not be enough to spin the meter backward this time with the aircon on full blast. Stay cool people.

Re-education

I see kids growing up with very poor spelling and vocabulary these days like "You're" is spelled "Your" instead of the correct spelling. Sadly I think they really think it's the right spelling and not a short form like texting. So what does that tells about our future leaders? There's a whole generation of people growing up with bad English so help us God! Re-education may be the answer.

You know what’s the best thing since sliced bread? Hand sanitizers, yes Terese carries one with her everywhere she goes. It’s handy because you can clean your hands wherever you are when you can’t find a washroom. Just a small little container like a little bottle in your handbag is all that’s needed. Go get some promotional hand sanitizers and try them out for yourself to see which ones would suit you best.

Doing my bit

Finally my solar power system is installed. The installer came yesterday to put in the panels and the inverter and switched on the system. The best part of it is seeing the meter running backward! To complete the whole installation it has to be inspected on the 18th. After that a new meter would have to be installed to take advantage of the electricity it generates. I'm doing my bit for the environment and it feels good.

Growing up I’ve never given two hoots for life insurance, I’ve always thought I was indestructible. Now that I’m married with children and growing older it might not be a bad idea to consider taking up life insurance for the sake of my family. There are too many to choose from though from term life insurance to variable life insurance. I think I’m going to need some expert advice to help me choose the right one.

Aiks! Its a hot day to finish off the year with temperature expected to reach 38C before the cool change arriving between 9 and midnight. Just in time to dampen the New Year count down and fireworks. Well I won't be in the city so I'd prefer the rain so let it pour, let it pour, let it pour!

I’ve always been one to think that I was invincible so when health insurance is the last thing I wanted to spend my hard earned money on. As the years pass I realized that I’m a mortal after all. Another year passes

New Year's Eve is coming and there's going to be a spectacular fireworks in the city. I like to go, I want to go but I think I'm too lazy to make an effort to go simply because traffic is going to be chaotic if I drive. I'm not the sort of person to take public transport so I guess I'll be watching the fireworks on the TV screen then. Gone are the days when nothing would stop me from having a good time. Its a sign of old age as another year passes me by.

Looks like the weather is going to warm up again this week. The expected top is 28C today and even higher tomorrow and the day after. But I'm glad its only expected to reach the mid thirties and not the forties which would be most unbearable.

So we're expecting a warm New Year Day follows by thundery showers which would be most welcoming. Speaking of which New South Wales is getting flooded by the torrential rain they've been having. You either get no rain or too much rain. Can't win either way.

Rackmount LCD

Being a computer technician it’s handy that you have the right tools for the right jobs when you’re out and about. The most recent item on the wish list at the moment is a rackmount lcd that I can take with me wherever I go. I can simply plug into any computer to do my work on. It’s simply brilliant, I should have gotten one ages ago. Would have save myself some headaches.

Christmas is over, time to get back to work. Though today is a holiday in-lieu of Boxing Day falling on a Saturday we can't afford to have another day off work. One weekend of rest is enough, there's just too much work to do.

From here on its another mad rush of go go go non-stop till it quiets down by the end of the month according to previous years. Its tiring but I shouldn't complain, better to be busy than not at all. Happy New Year!

Arthritis treatment

As the years roll on I find my body is starting to let me down. I’ve always been fit all my life but I guess no one can avoid the inevitable. I’m starting to get aches from all parts of my body. Not sure what causes the pains but I may need to seek arthritis treatment in the near future. Or I could just be imagining all this!

Playa del Carmen all inclusive

It’s nearly Christmas but with the heavy workload I still haven’t even plan our Christmas holidays for this year yet! Is it too late? I just want to go somewhere warm by the sea and I need to do it quick. Lucky I found just the place; we’re going to Playa del Carmen for the holidays! And it’s not too late to book, I can do it all at playa del carmen all inclusive website where I can get the flights and hotel all sorted out. Easy, so bring on the holidays!

When is it time?

When you're invited to someone's house for a party, when is it time for you to leave? When do you know you have overstayed your welcome? And is there such a thing as overstaying your welcome? What if the host kept insisting that you stay longer, does that mean you have to do as requested or does that mean the host was just being polite? All these questions raced through my head when we were invited to an early Christmas lunch that lasted into dinner time and by the time we left it was nearly bedtime!

American standard sinks

Living in another country makes me homesick. Therefore in the house we live in we always try to make it homely to remind us of home by using furniture and decorations from home. We’re such nostalgic freaks but when you’re far from home you’ll do the same! We’re working on the bathroom at the moment; it’s so hard to find the American Standard sinks here. We may have to special order one from home.

In a perfect world

After weeks of waiting for the rain it finally arrived this morning around 6. And it poured and poured till now. The gardens had a good drenching and all my rainwater storage bins are full. That should last me for a couple of weeks and I shouldn't have to collect any shower water till the next dry. In a perfect world the rain will come every week to replenish the gardens but we're in no perfect world we're living in.

Floor tiles

In my house we have timber floor board covering the entire ground floor. I like the look and feel of timber floors but they do have their disadvantages also especially if it’s in the kitchen. I’m thinking of changing the floor covering in the kitchen, I’m thinking of getting floor tiles instead. That way it’ll be easier to keep clean because tile floors are easy to sweep and mop.

Cynthia came to town.

It has been a couple of years since Cynthia came to town. That was the first time we met her and we had a great day then. Friday night we had a nice surprise when she pop up again, this time with Kian her boyfriend also. They're down here looking to buy a property and will eventually move here to live, which is great. We'll be able to see each other more often then. Its funny how friendship can bloom so quickly through blogging.

My trusty laptop

I bought my laptop a couple of years back and I can say that it was one of the best investments I’ve ever made. Though it’s not a high end system it does everything I need it to do and it does it well. Some people buy laptops to play games on, now that’s just silly. If you’re going to play games then you might as well get a desktop or better still a game console! Leave the laptop for serious stuff like work, have you done that recently?

The silly season

For us the silly season has already begun; this is the time when we are at our busiest. The clients will dump all their work with us before going on their holidays and expect them back by the time they come back next year. Meaning no time for rest for us, most nights will be spent working into the wee mornings. That's the nature of this business; we get quiet times and we get busy times and we have to make the most of the busy times to compensate for the quiet times.
