Bring it on

Talk about the drought in Victoria..we just had the biggest downpour of rain the state has seen in a long time. Now most parts of the state is under water and the SES is working overtime just to keep up with the demand of people stranded and houses under threat. We need the water badly but not in one go for goodness sake. Bring it on a bit at a time will'ya Mother Nature?

Door locks

There was a burglary attempt on the holiday house last weekend. They almost made it into the house but I think the neighbour’s dog scared them off. I went to check it out this morning after the neighbour called me and found the lock had been badly damaged by the attempt. So I spent the whole morning getting a locksmith down there to change the door locks including all the other external doors of the house. I had better locks put it just to be extra secure.

Growing egg plants in Australia

Eggplants require a position in full sun and a long, warm growing season. In warm, frost-free zones (for example the tropical and subtropical parts of the Northern Territory and coastal areas of north Queensland) they can be grown all year round. In temperate climates (coastal and near coastal districts of southern Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia) seed can be planted from August to December. In cool to cold climates (southern Australia, mountain and frost-prone inland districts), delay planting until September and make last plantings by the end of November.

Breeches

I must admit years ago I was obsessed with wearing tights. Yes, thinking back now it can be funny but I had the figure and legs for it then. I was able to get away with almost any kind of pants like tight jeans, leggings and breeches too. But not now though, not leggings and tight jeans anymore but breeches are still okay. Speaking of which I want to get some more.

Growing okra

Okra is a tropical plant that is grown as an annual vegetable. The seed pods are especially useful for thickening stews because of their gummy mucilage. Okra plants are extremely drought and heat resistant and okra is a popular vegetable in many countries with difficult growing conditions. Okra seeds are large and easy to handle. Some gardeners like to pre-soak their seeds the night before planting, but you should get good germination if you keep the soil moist until the plants break through. Okra can be direct sown or started indoors and transplanted. Starting seedlings in peat pots will lessen transplant shock. Start indoor seeds 6-8 weeks before transplant date.

Webhosting

The best thing I’ve done for my business is putting it out there in the internet. My business got a huge exposure to more potential clients than it ever did before. When I first started I was a bit apprehensive about it mainly because of price. But then I realized that it wasn’t that costly after all. All I needed was some good web hosting guide that I can research on the internet.

I did need some help setting up my website and hosting it though. Fortunately for me one of my blogging friends is in the web hosting industry and he was able to help me set up my website, host it on his server and all I had to do was organise the online ad campaign. Quick and simple and the business has never been better and will continue to do so into the future as long as I keep up the webhosting.

Hung parliament

So we've just had our federal election on the weekend but we still haven't got a government yet. The country is pretty much split into half over who should be the government and we won't know for another week or two for the rest of the votes to be counted. It would be most embarrassing for the current government to loose this election; there hasn't been a one term government since 1945. They have no one else to blame but themselves for their mishandling of everything that went went during their governance.

Computer memory

I still remember years ago when I had my first computers that cost thousands of dollars and parts like computer memory will cost an arm when you upgrade. Nowadays just about everybody can afford which used to be luxury items. I think it’s a good thing; technology should be made affordable and available to all concerned, that’s why it’s called progress! I can only imagine what technology is going to be like in the near future.

Harvesting garlic

Once the tops of your garlic plants start to die back, you know it’s time to harvest. Most of us plant our garlic in the fall and then sit back and wait. Growing garlic is an act of faith, since you won’t know how things are going until the moment of truth. At least potatoes let you peek around the edges and sneak a few baby potatoes early.

Growing sweet pea

Sweet peas are usually direct seeded. To assist germination, seeds should be nicked or soaked in water for several hours, to soften the seed coating. Seed can be started outdoors, as soon as the ground has warmed to about 50 degrees F. and is not too wet. At about 3-6", pinch the seedlings to encourage strong side shoots. Seed can be started earlier indoors, in pots. Pinch off all flowers and buds when transplanting seedlings, to encourage root development.

Baby announcements

We had a pleasant surprise from our friends whom we haven’t seen for quite some time. It was a baby announcement informing us about their new born baby! Looks like they’ve been busy all these times. So immediately we called them up congratulating them and we’ll be catching up with them for lunch this weekend. Sounded like they’ve been sending baby announcements to everybody so we just might have a big baby shower instead!

My gardens in winter

There are so many jobs to do in the garden but I'm over the cold. I can totally understand why animals hibernate. That's just what I feel like doing but we're half way through winter so onwards and upwards! One thing I've decided to do is remove the lilac tree next to the magnolia. Even though I adore the spring flowers the tree didn’t look much good for the rest of the year, having suffered due to the last few years of drought. And the trunk and branches had split quite badly so best to remove it.

Prenatal vitamins

I think my sister and her husband are planning a family. The other day I saw her buying prenatal vitamins. I’m happy for them but heard nothing from her about their plan just yet. I supposed they want to keep this a secret until the big day to announce it to the family. I can’t wait, everyone will be thrilled.

My ongoing war with possums

Possums are commonly found in suburban areas, where they are often considered pests owing to their habit of eating fruit, vegetables, flowers and tender young shoots from gardens, and nesting in roofs. The loud hissing, crackling territorial call of the male common brushtail may also be a problem for suburban residents. Natural deterrents, which play upon the possum's acute sense of smell, are often employed to discourage them. These include cloves of garlic, camphor or naphthalene. As a native species in Australia, possums are protected by Australian regulations, even when they reside in urban neighbourhoods, and cannot be baited. If captured, regulations stipulate that they must be released within a small radius of the capture site, as they are territorial creatures. Preventative measures such as blocking off their access to the roof spaces or building a possum nesting box for an alternative home are instead recommended.

Diets that work

This is impossible; I’ve tried everything under the sun but to no avail. I’m talking about going on diet and losing that extra weight. I just want diets that work and not promise of turning your life around and giving you that celebrity bodies we all adore from Hollywood. There has to be a diet that is just right for me and I can’t wait to find it.

I hate cleaning my fish tank

Fish tank cleaning can be made easier with the help of a few tools. You can ask about these tools when you purchase your tank. First off, be sure to buy tank tongs. These are long, claw-like bars that allow you to clean and get at the bottom of the tank. If fish tank cleaning is new to you, you are probably not aware of how difficult it is to get to the bottom of the tank. These tongs will surely make this job much easier. Also, do not forget to pick up a net. A net will come in handy whenever you need to scoop something out of the water that may be causing a problem or to scoop up a fish for thorough tank cleaning.

Steel building

After the devastating bush fire the communities are slowly rebuilding their lives and townships. With lessons learned from the fire most people are opting for steel building dwellings instead of the traditional timber and concrete buildings. I think this is a great idea because it will definitely save life and to an extent properties as well. The only problem the communities are facing now is bureaucratic red tapes.

Thing to do in July

July is the month when most roses are pruned, although there are some exceptions. For example, it’s not yet time to prune those roses that have one single massed flowering in spring. This group includes some of the old-fashioned roses, as well as banksias and many weeping standards, all of which should be pruned after flowering. Most climbing roses, too, should be left until after blooming before you think about cutting them back. And, in cold districts, you might like to wait until later and prune when there’s no risk of new growth being damaged by frost.

Window boxes

It’s no surprise to people who know me that one of my favourite past times is gardening. I have been gardening for many years and my enthusiasm is stronger today than it was when I first started so many years ago. Of course back then when I was learning I had to make my own window boxes from scrap timber because there were no commercial window boxes planters on the market.

Nowadays I can buy window flower boxes everywhere and there’s no limit to the designs. The reason why I’m talking about window plant boxes is because I’ll soon be moving into an apartment so the best way to have a garden is to use window box gardening. There are a variety of garden window boxes I can pick from.

My all time favorite fruit

My all time favorite fruit is the durian. The durian is the fruit of several tree species belonging to the genus Durio and the Malvaceae family (although some taxonomists place Durio in a distinct family, Durionaceae. Widely known and revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits", the durian is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk. The fruit can grow as large as 30 centimetres (12 in) long and 15 centimetres (6 in) in diameter, and it typically weighs one to three kilograms (2 to 7 lb). Its shape ranges from oblong to round, the colour of its husk green to brown, and its flesh pale yellow to red, depending on the species.

Back in my schooling days I had the misfortune of not able to get some help on my subjects especially math help. Nowadays kids are spoilt for choice as there are so many online tutor sites to suit everyone, some even provide free online tutoring if you are tight with cash.

Only if I was born later then I would be able to get all the math tutors online now. Instead all my parents could afford for me was a math tutor from the neighbourhood who wasn’t much of a math problem solver himself. Too much to do

Its the weekend again so what's in store for the next two days? Well there are heaps of things I have to do but didn't have the chance to do them so I'm hoping to get them done this weekend. There's more pruning to do in the gardens, lawns to mow, vegie patch to tend to and I also need to do some housework too. Then maybe, just maybe I can go get a haircut! I’m well into middle age now and looking back on my life I have only one regret; I should have done better in school, go to college and get a degree to start off my life on the right foot. Too cold to garden

I've been neglecting my gardens; the roses need pruning, the lawns need mowing and the perenials all need attention but I've been procrastinating! I'm also busy with work so I can only have the weekends to get stuck into them but when the weekend is wet and cold I give up!

Need lockers

Never in my wildest dream that when we set up the gardening club three years ago that we would have so many members as we have today. It’s getting to a point that we need to cater to our members when they come for their volunteering work.

At the moment they have to put their bags and stuff all over the place and it’s not safe especially if they have to store their valuables. I was thinking of providing lockers for everyone, like the school lockers or the gym lockers but I don’t want to spend too much money on them since we run on a strict budget. Therefore I’m constantly looking for lockers for sale at the local traders and just asking our members to keep their eyes out for a good buy. Let me know if you see a good bargain will’ya?

Betrayal

We have a new Prime Minister in Australia, actually we have our first female Prime Minister to be exact. Events like this is rare so usually it would be a case for celebration but because of how it came to be that is a worrying sign. The first female Prime Minister got to the top job by betrayal and stabbing her predeccessor in the back so it is not a honorable thing according to me. The Labor Party is in a very bad way at the moment.

Sleeping pills

I guess I’m lucky because I don’t have this problem of not being able to fall asleep at night. I do know some people who can’t sleep at night so they’re always tired at work during the day and need sleeping pills when the problem gets really bad. I don’t know why but the older I get the easier I can fall asleep; I mean I can fall asleep just sitting down and watching TV!

The new iPad

The long awaited iPad is on sale today. There's long queues outside Apple stores eager to get their hands on this new technology that will set you back around $800. Not surprisingly there are all men. What is it with men and their gadgets? I'm just as guilty; I like new technology and anything new but I don't think I want an iPad though..what am I going to do with it?

Joint supplement

As I grow older I think it’s just a matter of time before I’ll start getting joint pain. Such is life and old age. All I can do is look after myself better; exercise and take joint supplement to keep my bones strong and active. The quickest way of getting old is doing nothing and I don’t think I want to be old yet.

Stop whingeing

I'm very busy at the moment; there's lots of work to be done. Lots of cardboards needing cutting and I only have a week to do them all! I hope I can finish in time, looks like I'll be working on the weekends and late into the nights as well. Oh stop whingeing! It's all income for me!

LOL!

I have a little transistor radio that I plug into my ears everyday to listen to my daily talk back radio shows. It's great because I get to listen to my radio and not disturb people around me like my wife who hates talk back radio. She prefers to listen to her music so she has an iPod that she plugs into her ears. Happily we can work together without interrupting each other. LOL!

Cigars

I must admit, I am an ex-smoker. I pick up this stupid habit when I was very young when my friend started smoking. I can be classified as a moderate smoker; going through a packet of 30 cigarettes in two days. Some of my friends smoke cigars which I never pick up. I tried it once but couldn’t stand the taste and aroma of a cigar. Too strong for me so I stuck with cigarettes until years later when I gave it up for good.

Websites down

Damnit! Both my business and personal websites are down. Well maybe not completely down but I can't get in them. Funny how my friends in Malaysia can still get in to both of them. I tried resetting my modem but that didn't help. It is possible that the server which the two websites reside is blocking my ip address. But why though? I'm getting Bryan my webhoster to help oin fix this problem.

Entertainment centers

Nowadays with big screen TV and home entertainment systems getting cheaper every day, more and more households are setting up their own entertainment centers. If you’re buying a new house the builder would probably has built a special home theatre room just for this purpose. Soon everyone will be staying home instead of going to the movies. Then the cinemas would be up in arms calling for the stop of home theatre sales!

What the heck

Heck! I couldn't stand it anymore; I've been putting up with the earphone of my transistor radio working on one side for the last few days. First I thought of getting a new radio because to get a new earphone costs $7 while I can probably get a new radio for a few dollars more. But the radio I have still works fine, just the earphone's no good. So this morning when I was at the supermarket I just bought the earphone, to hell with a new radio.

Samsung

A friend of ours just bought a new TV for his house and it’s a stunner! It’s a big step up from his old one; I think it’s a Samsung plasma 50 inch. I went along to help carry it back from his house the other weekend. He also got a bench for it to sit on so we got everything done on the same day. Once it’s all installed and we turned on the TV we were blown away by the sheer size and clarity of it.

I don't miss it

It's such a drag running my own business; I have to keep chasing up my clients for payment on a daily basis. In an ideal world I wouldn't have to worry about it and they'll just pay me on time. Wouldn't that be terrific? But unfortunately I don't live in an ideal world and I have to keep chasing after my clients for money because if I don't they think I don't miss it!

Waiting for my BAS

I hope the accountant would send me the amended BAS today because the dealine is drawing near. I got the BAS from the accountant about 2 weeks ago but the figures don't match so I've emailed the accountant and called twice. I hope he'll get it fixed for me before my dealine or I'll be in trouble with the Tax Office!

One a day vitamin

Even with the balance diet we eat on a daily basis our bodies still need supplements like vitamins which can be lacking in our food. Therefore it is good practise to take regular multivitamins to keep ourselves in tip top condition. Unfortunately for me I’m too lazy to take multiple vitamins throughout the day, I prefer a one a day vitamin so I don’t have to worry about it again. I’m too busy to worry about taking my vitamins.

I wish

I'm back from doing some delivery down to a client in Prahran. Took around an hour for the round trip which is good. Normally it would have taken an hour and a half with the traffic but somehow today's traffic is quite good. Why that is so I don't know. I thought Friday's traffic is usually bad but today is obviously an exception. How I wish everyday's like today.

Its coming up to the weekend again. The week's gone by quick. That's what happens when you're busy. So what's on for the weekend? Dinner with Heng and his family on Sunday night, that's all we got in out weekend schedule. Boring yeah?

Ab workouts

Years ago when I was a skinny young lad I didn’t need to work out to have a six pack. I was so skinny that I had a six pack naturally! But now that I’m older and put on some weight I have a fat tummy and gone is my six pack. I miss my six pack and I want it back and the only way to get it back is ab workouts which I think will be too hard for a couch potato like me.

Winter around the corner

With winter just around the corner there's less need for me to water the gardens. Therefore there's also less need for me to collect more rain water. My rain water tanks are all full and during the warmer months I used to collect the water in buckets after the tanks were filled. Now that watering is not needed as much I don't have to anymore because I wouldn't be able to use up all the water now, unlike in summer.

Fish food

Most of you would’ve known for years that I keep goldfish for pets. I have an indoor fish tank and a half wine barrel pond outdoor. When I started I had quite a number of fish and feeding them was tedious; I used to buy special fish food for them like pellets, live shrimps and even ground up peas! Now after many disappointments and deaths with just a handful left I’m losing my enthusiasm in choosing their food.

They're back

They're back; those nasty caterpillars. I found them yesterday on my brocoli chewing away on the lease leaving pin holes all over the leaves. They're tiny and hiding under the leaves so are hard to find. I thought I had eradicated most of them but I don't think I can get rid of them completely and I would have to keep an eye on them from time to time.

Sink

My most successful DIY story is the potting table I built myself a few years back. I didn’t have to spend too much money on the material; just some timber frames and an old kitchen sink I pick up from the side of the road that someone threw out. The sink serves as the table top with the sunken section for potting mix. Its great!

Growing your own vegies is great, I do it and so do a lot of people. But gardeners are always facing the problems of pest and diseases that devastate your crops constantly. A good way around this problem is setting up a green or glass house and growing your crops inside it. This way you control the weather, keep the nasties out and have 100% success rate everytime you grow!

Quick weight loss

There are a lot of people wanting to lose weight fast just to fit into a dress or to show off to their old classmates on that all important reunion day. I’m sceptical about losing weight too fast; I don’t think that’s a good way of doing it. It might have an adverse effect on your health or you might just put that weight back on as fast as you lost it. So no quick weight loss program for me thank you.

Dreaming of Malaysia

Its been a few years since I last went back to Malaysia. I've been wanting to go back again but never seems to find time to go. My mother and others keep asking me to go back but I just don't have any time to do it since we've started this business. If we go one holidays there's no one to look after the business and we might loose our customers if we send them elsewhere when we're on holidays. Running your own business is damn hard.

Best acne treatment

I’m not one that gets bad acne but every now and then I would get a couple here and there. The best acne treatment I found is actually something not made for it. It’s Vicks vapourup! Yes I couldn’t believe it at first but after the first try I’m a believer. Terese put me up to it and now whenever I have an acne I go for my Vicks vapourup.

Goodness me

I bought a Japanese Iris in summer which I put in my wine barrel pond. It was doing well until now when the cold weather has settled in. The leaves are turning yellow and flopping over and I don't know what could've done that. So I did some searches on the net for this plant and I found that you're supposed to take them out of the water in autumn and winter or else the roots will rot! Goodness me, glad I found out about it now so I've take it out of the pond.

RV repair

Thinking of getting an rv so we can go fishing on long weekends and do other things with the convenient of sleeping in our rv than booking into expensive accommodations. I saw a second hand one which looks quite enticing but it does need a little work. Just a little rv repair and I think she’ll be right. I think I’ll go see the owner tomorrow and see how much he wants for it.

We shall see

I need a haircut again, it's been 6 weeks already since I had my last haircut? Anyway I need another one now and I was hoping to get it done today but we're busy with work and I'm not sure I can do it. I might, see how it goes. I may have to go there myself. Usually Terese comes with me so she can go to the library there. We shall see.

Unique gifts for her

I drag Terese’s birthday, anniversary or any other days when I have to find a gift for her. You see she’s very fuzzy with her gifts; I can never get her the gifts she likes. She’s very hard to please and sometimes she’s not even happy with what she buys herself! The I found this place where I think I can get unique gifts for her that she would definitely like.

Office makeover

We've just had an office makeover; we changed all our computers to the new ones and changed the settings and moved the furniture around. Its finished now and it looks good, Terese calls it an office makeover but more importantly it has to be easy for us to work in. I think it is and I think it is efficient use of space. I think we will keep it this way for a while.

Careers

When I finished school I didn’t quite know what to do with myself. Back then we didn’t have help like we do now where you can go for help on finding the choices of careers school leavers have. My grade wasn’t good enough to go to University and I didn’t have the guidance to choose a trade that I could use for the rest of my career life. But I’m glad my life turned up quite good I must say.

Good business

Well its the weekend again but it won't be much of a weekend for us because work has pick up again after a fairly quiet month. Its a good thing but it also mean we're going to have to work long hours and right into the weekends just to keep up. Don't want to risk a burnout but on the other hand its good business.

Seems like I’m forever looking for that miracle pills that would magically zap my fat away and give me a body to be envious by others. But so far I have no luck finding ones that work. Where can I find the most effective diet pills out there? There’re so many on the market all claiming to help you but how can I be absolutely sure?

Last day of training.

Well today's the last day of training. I hope the instructor turns up though, she does have a habit of forgetting her appointments and postponing them. We agreed on today last week so I just hope she put it down in her diary. It's been a long time since we started training and I just want to get it over and done with. Beside training she also need to bring the license and installation disc for the older version of the programs so I can install them on my new PC. Now I'm just waiting for her to show up.

Best fat burning exercise

Some people like exercising vigorously. I’m no such people, in fact I’ll work up a sweat just looking at people exercising! Yes I know I’m bad at it, I need to get off my butt and work out more. Got to get rid of some of this extra fat around my waist. I need to know the best fat burning exercise so I can just concentrate on that and forget about the rest. Would that be enough for me to keep fit?

One term government

From the way things are going it looks like the current government is going to loose the election this year. This is going to be the one term government, something not seen in this country. At least I've never seen it. When the Labor government took power back in 97 the economy was at its best and though the previous government was considered harsh in border security we managed to keep the illegals from coming. Then everything went wrong once the Labor government took over, we see it in the boat people, the bungled insulation program and the ETS. The only card this government can hope to gain some favor with the voters is that they managed to keep the country away from the GFC. Other than that they have nothing to show for.

Urban clothes

When it comes to clothing I prefer casual clothes to formal wears. It just makes me feel more comfortable and confident. There are some really nice urban clothes that I like out there and I think it’s time I go do some shopping for clothes. That’s the other thing about me; I’m lazy when it comes to buying clothes! Usually the missus gets them for me; I hope she gets the ones I like.

A great day

Yesterday was Mothers Day and we spent the day at the Mother-In-Law's place. Everyone was there and we all brought food for steamboat. Heng was in charge of bringing meat, Cecily in charge of veg and we the stuffed tofu. Well that was the plan but as usual everyone bought way too much and we had too much to eat and like all asian dinners we had plenty of leftovers. So overall a great day!

Basement dehumidifier

The problem with basements is that they can get very damp and humid if you don’t take precaution to keep them clean and dry. It’s the one place in the entire house where all the plumbing are hidden so we really need to keep the humidity problem at the minimum if you care about your family’s health. Use a basement dehumidifier to get that smelly humid air out of your basement and then maybe you can even use it as an extra room!

Silly me

I thought I was pretty good with technology and can deal with most computer related issues than most average people. I was wrong; yesterday I stuffed up the computer I was trying to install Windows XP on. Originally the PC came with Windows Vista and I had to remove it and install XP on instead because I want to use this PC for running the programs we use at work. Little did I know that with new technology of SATA drives which are very different with the older IDE drives I completely bugger up the hard drive when I deleted the partitions on it. So now I have to wait till Sunday when we'll see my brother-in-law to get it fixed since he's a tech by trade.

Woohoo! I've won tickets to see Iron Man 2 at Crown tonight! Got a call from a girl from Paramount Pictures late last night telling me I've won so I'll be going to the premiere screening of this much anticipated movie at Crown Village at 7 tonight. Its been a while since we went to premiere screenings, we used to win tickets very frequently but lately we haven't won anything until now.

How long has it been since the last Iron Man movie? Maybe I should watch the first one again before watching the second one. I know I have a copy of the first movie somewhere, just have to go find it. Now where could it be..

Flowers that mothers love

It’s nearly that time of the year again; mother’s day. So time to get something really nice for her and don’t forget to get her flowers. Not just any flowers, has to be flowers that mothers love and don’t be stingy about it either! We only have one mother and it’s only one day in a year so it’s time to spoil her silly.

I received a letter from my supplier reminding me about my 2nd installment to them. So I decided to call them to ask them about the credit note I'm supposed to get from them for the 4 small invoices that we agreed on. Of course their accountant knows nothing about it so I told her to talk to her boss since it was him who promised me the credit note. This is so annoying, I told her I'm not paying the installment until the credit note has been issued. So there!

Chicago auto repair

When it comes to auto service and auto repair, which I have no clue of, I’m glad I have a friend who’s in the industry. That’s why I always bring my cars to him instead of other mechanics simply because he will not try to rip me off. I’ve heard terrible things about dodgy mechanics preying on people like me. So it’s good to know that I’m in good hands.

My mechanic always does a thorough job whenever I bring my Toyota Camry in for a service. He’ll treat my car like his own taking time to go through all the process carefully so as not to miss out on anything and he’s always cautious to me even though we’ve known each other for years. I don't have to remind him to check engine light, he'll do everything before I can think of anything. So next time you need a mechanic go to Chicago auto repair and tell him I sent you there and he’ll look after you.

What a shame

A well know criminal got murdered in jail recently. Nothing unusual right? These things happen all the time in prison but it takes a well known criminal's murder to highlight the lack of security in our prison system. There are currently 3 investigations into this incident. Heads must roll over this lack of security. If it wasn't for the CCTV the murderer would have gotten away with murder. Took the guards 20 minutes to find out the man's dead! What a shame.

Supplements

I’m not the type to take supplements. Some of my friends do it regularly but I’m too lazy to do that. In fact if I can survive without food I’ll be happy! Too lazy to eat or take supplements for my own health. I’m just terrible when it comes to my health. No wonder my wife tells me off all the time regarding this issue.

2nd day

Today's the 2nd day of Lectra software training. Last week the trainer said we'll have it today but she said she'll email and confirm with us this week. So far I've not heard from her. I never got a call back from her on Monday when I left a message for her to call back last Friday. This trainer is bad when it comes to people skill but she's good with the software so I'll let her go this time.

Joint pain

Once I thought I’d never grow old and I’ll live forever in my youth. Yeah dream on! Nowadays I can feel my body giving up. I feel pain here and there especially joint pain on elbows. Not good, I need to do something about it. I refuse to go down like this so I’m going to seek help so I’ve already made an appointment to see my doctor. I’m hoping for a miracle cure here but I wouldn’t keep my hopes up.

My embarrassing problem

What I'm about to tell you is rather embarrassing. You see I have a problem; it's a skin condition where I'd break up in hives every now and then. It's some kind of allergic reaction to what I don't know but I noticed that the hives come back to the same areas of my body when it breaks out and it also then to happen when there's a change in weather or season. I take anti-histamine and use lotion to help cope but it never goes away.

Colon cleanser reviews

I’ve heard of colon cleansing but never had it before. I wonder if it’s any good like what I’ve heard from some people I know who’s had it. Some of them swear by it but I’m skeptical. I think I need to do a bit more research on it. I’m going to read more about colon cleanser reviews that are available out there and I’ll make up my mind then.

We are all humans

Silly me. I fell for the oldest trick in the book; downloading a dodgy executive file AND opening it! So obviously the computer got infected and Windows wouldn't even start. Tried everything I know how but in the end I had to do a drastic format and restore. This goes to show it doesn't matter how much you know about technology or how cautious you are, we are all humans and as humans we do stupid things like what I did yesterday and had to spend all day fixing it.

Security cameras

I’ve always had this problem with possums eating my roses in the middle of the night. There are telltale signs that indicate the possums are the culprit but I’ve never actually saw one. I think what I need is night vision cameras to be set up in the backyard to capture these pests but I don’t know where to start. Maybe I should start looking at places that sell security cameras; if they can’t help me then they might be able to point me in the right direction.

Who the hell is Justin Bieber? Until yesterday I've never heard of this name. Now he's playing outside Channel 7's Sunrise program studio in Sydney in front of thousands of screaming teenagers. In the world of show biz and entertainment it is not hard to achieve fame nowadays thanks to the internet and YouTube.

Justin Bieber is a 16 year old kid from Canada who's shot to fame for his singing. I heard his mentor is Usher and using the power of YouTube he's managed to reach his fans quicker than bushfire. But then again it is just as fast to fade into oblivion when the next best thing comes along.

Spirometer

I have a friend who has a very sick child at home. I went to see him the other day and met his family including the poor kid. His room is like a hospital ward; there are medical equipments all over the place like spirometer, inhaler and things I can’t even put names to them. What can you do with a sick child? You just have to love him the best you can.

Money well spent

I finally got to meet Peter from Lectra yesterday. We spoke on the phone a few times but had never met until yesterday. He came over with some paper for me to sign. We're buying some upgraded programs from him for our work. It is utterly expensive but we have no choice; we have to upgrade to keep up with time and our customers and Lectra is the only people we can get their programs from. It's an investment for the business so it's money well spent.

Credit card

I’m one of those people that like using our credit cards for purchasing anything. Why wouldn’t you? You get things on credit and get reward points as well. But you have to be very disciplined and pay off the bill when it comes, or else you’ll be slugged with a hefty interest. I use my credit card for everything and anything and I always manage to pay it off before the interest kicks in. I’m a smart credit card user.

A good drenching

I've been waiting for the rain to come and it did come but in the middle of the night when I couldn't be stuffed getting up to organize anything. We did had a good downpour last night but if I was up I'd have been able to collect more rain than what we got. Oh well, its not all wasted, at least the gardens had a good drenching.

I’m not one to spend my hard earned money on insurance but there’s one insurance I think is worth every penny I put in and that’s my life insurance policy. It gives me a peace of mind knowing that my family will be taken care of should heaven forbids something happens to me. I’ve known friends who don’t have life insurance or don’t have enough covers and as a consequence their families have to suffer. I don’t wish that on my family nor any other family.

It better be worth it

Well its inevitable that we have to upgrade the software for our work. We've put it off for this long and now we've finally taken the step to upgrade. Its not cheap at all; has to work a long time to pay for it but we don't have a choice if we want to keep up with our competitors and keep our customers. We paid a third as deposit yesterday and will have to pay another third when the software is installed and the rest 30 days later. It better be worth it.

Protein powder

I’ve been going to the gym for 3 months now and I’m loving it. First it was hard, really hard and I ended up with aches all over my body the first day. But I persevere and now I’m getting into the routine and I’m full of energy and enjoying it very much. I need to get some protein powder supplement so I can get a killer body to show off on the beach this summer. Ladies, watch out!

So so lucky...

I nearly ran someone off the road today; some woman jogger not paying attention to where she was walking and I didn't look left before driving. What a dangerous combination, it could have ended up badly but lucky I stop the car just in time and gave her a fright instead of something worse. This is the closest I've ever come across to a serious injury so I'm thanking my lucky star that I saw her before I accelerated on the gas. So so lucky..for both of us.

Hair loss cure

You know you’re getting old when you start getting receding hairlines. Like my father before me who started getting receding hairlines, now he has a full bald head and it looks like I’ll be heading that way too. But I don’t want to follow my father in those footsteps, I want a full head of hair for as long as I live. I need to find a hair loss cure so I can step ahead of my hair loss. I need help!

So sad

I remember years ago when 17 inch CRT monitors used to cost a bomb. All we could aford were 14 inch or 15 inch CRTs. Nowadays you can't even give away the 17 inch CRTs! Almost everyday you can find them sitting outside people's houses begging to be adopted but sadly few are ever fortunate enough to find a second loving home. Now users prefer 21 inch LCD monitors so the old CRTs are all forgotten. So sad.

Fairfield's first farmers narket

We go to farmers markets all the time, sometimes once a week usually on the Sundays. Today Fairfield is having its own very first farmers market and we've decided to go have a look around. Its at the Fairfield primary school which is just down the street where we live. I hope it will become a good market coz its so close to us for the convenience. Well enough talking, I have to get ready to go to market now!

Adult acne

I’m not exactly spring chicken anymore, more like summer chicken so I thought I’m over the ‘Oh no I gotta acne so I’m staying home for the rest of my life!’ dilemma. But even as a mature adult I still occasionally get adult acne every now and then. I tell myself maybe I’m still a spring chicken just to make myself feel better but seriously adult acne can be fixed quite easily so don’t let your peers tell you little boy or girl!

3 years old

Its Thursday already today, the week's gone by quick. There's a birthday to go to this weekend; it's Sang's son Sebastian's 3 year old celebration. According to the Vietnamese tradition 3 year old sons birthdays are to be celebrated in a big way. There's going to be a roasted pig among other food so it will be a big feast for all. Time to find the birthday boy a good present.
