CNY Hawkers Bazaar @ Crown

I've been having too much fun these few days to be blogging! Chinese New Year has been a lot of fun this year coz I've just spent all weekend at Crown Entertainment Complex where they have a special CNY Hawkers Bazaar celebration which lasts all weekend and next weekend as well.

The chinese are the best clients for Crown Casino so its the least they could do to celebrate Chinese New Year in a big way! This post is just a short introduction to the Hawkers Bazaar and I hope to post more detail posts in the next few days if I have the time.

There's heaps of stalls set up outside the waterfront with Chinese New Year decors all over the place. With 3 days that I've been there, there was not a day when it was quiet, there are people everywhere!

Chinese New Year stuffs are always popular with everyone so they can sell them at incredible markups!

There's Cantonese Opera at the main stage, this one is about this guy who married the daughter of the dragon or something like that!

Korean Folk Dance..they use a lot of drums and they're pretty good I must say!

Lion and dragon dances with fire-crackers which is a definite must during Chinese New Year! I just love the lions the way they flutter their eyes and twitch their ears! I also love the smell of the fire-crackers fume! It makes me high!

Tommy Chung the noodle man who demonstrates how to make noodle with his hand, he starts off with one long dough, then two, then four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two, sixty-four, one hundred and twenty-eight, two hundred and fifty-six, five hundred and twelve and finally one thousand and twenty-four strands of noodle! He makes it looks so easy!

The Wushu Martial Art's finests demonstrate some kick ass kungfu movements. Notice that martial art is not just practised by chinese anymore, a lot of non-chinese take it up for health reasons or maybe they just want to be Jet Li!

I forgot what this man's name is but he can make a horse or any animals out of melted lollies! I think its caramel, I had a taste of the lolly and it was very sweet but hard to bite when hardened.

And of course Choy Sun was there to give me a gigantic gold nugget! Did you get your nugget from Choy Sun this year?
