Nobody Steals From Me!

Tonight's post was supposed to be called "Multicultural Concert" but after all the excitement I've had I have to change the title to "Nobody steals from me!" Wanna know what happened? Let me start from the beginning...

Tonight there was this free concert organised by the local council called the "Multicultural Concert" so Terese and I decided to go since our tax dollars paid for it!

The concert was held at the Preston Town Hall which wasn't very big but good enough for our little community gathering. There's going to be cultural dances from the chinese, irish and greek communities.

The night started with the lion dance of course and I was busy taking pictures of everything that I left my bag under my seat..bad idea! Because soon I found out that it was gone! Somebody had stolen by bag! It had 2 camera cases, 2 rechargeable batteries, 2 memory cards and my gorillapod still inside! What am I going to do?!

I asked the people seated behind me if they saw anyone taking my bag and the lady said that she did see a young man walking out very quickly when the lion dance was going on. It must've been him, I said to myself coz I did notice that guy before we came inside the hall. He was skinny, wore green top and black pant, black hair with a blue colour tint on top! I decided to go outside to have a look around hoping for a glimpse of the silver lining in the clouds.

Of course I couldn't find the bastard so I went to report it to the police since the police station was nearby. After that I went back to the concert to get some more detail from that lady seated behind me and she said that young man came back! And he's seated in the back row! He's come back for more, I said to myself.

Now because the lady didn't actually see him taking the bag there was no proof that he actually took it so I can't go up to him and accuse him of theft. So I decided to talk to him anyway and see what happens. I told him that the lady saw him behind me so I wanted to know if he saw anyone took my bag and the reply he gave me was enough for me to know for sure that he is the thief! He was nervous when he spoke and kept offering to help me find my bag! So I said that if he would help me find my bag I'm happy to give him a small reward and he fell for it! I wanted to go get the police but he came after me asking about the reward so I reconfirmed my offer and guess what? He led me right to my bag! And he said it was his "friend" who took it and dump it in the bushes!

What happened was when he took the bag, he left the hall and upon finding out there was no money inside he threw the bag into the bushes and went back into the concert hoping to steal something else. So anyway he led me straight to the bag and I managed to get everything back! After that I told him to wait for me while I go get something from my car whereas in fact I was going back to the police station! He then realised he's been tricked by me so he took off and I never saw him again for the rest of the night.

I missed out on half the concert, everyone around me got to see me in action, I reported the incident to the police even after I got my bag back but the police said they can't do anything because there was no actual witness seeing him steal the bag! WTF! I also told the concert organiser and what did they do? Take down my detail when the fucktard was still there! Its a good thing the bastard was a dumb fuck, thinking I would reward him for finding my bag! He's lucky I didn't deck him but I wouldn't do that coz if I did, I would be charged with assault!

Nobody steals from me! OK! Here's the bushes where he threw my bag in. So you tell me, did I have an exciting night onot? You still want me to continue with the concert?

Dude, I've stayed in Preston before during a holiday. The suburb is a bit of a hole.

I surely wouldn't be leaving bags unattended especially in that area.

You should have taken a photo of the alleged thief and put him on the web ;)

Luckily you got your bag back.
It's a harsh world out there.

It sucks when you go out wanting to have a simple, fun night out but something horrid like this happens...
(The world is, sadly, full of opportunists with bad intentions like the moron who tried to steal your bag)

Anyway, you are super lucky to get your bag back.... Most other ppl (like me *sigh*) don't...

Well, it must be a blessing in disguise, as you seem to have lost your mojo and didn't know what to write..so you get to write about someone stealing ur bag..very interesting read and you are so lucky to get your bag back with all your things in there..

Oh well!! as for the incident, what do you expect in a free for all event, anyone can come in and anyone can steal anything if you're not careful, so bottom line of the story, take care of your belonging at all times.
