I'll Be Back...With A Vengeance

I've finally able to proceed to apply for my ADSL2+ internet for my home today, after over a month of mucking around with Telstra and Primus Telecom. Reminds me not to change phone carrier again in future.

They told me the service should be up and running in 3 to 5 working days and I'm expecting the new ADSL2+ capable modem to arrive during that time also so hopefully everything will be up and running before the weekend. Woohoo! Can hardly wait, I'm so so behind in my blogging and you guys are so patient with me not coming to visit you with my damn slow dial-up at the moment. Don't worry, Wuching will be back with a vengeance soon and you won't be able to get rid of me then!

The Original Clone Trooper

I picked up another Star Wars figurine today and it's the original clone trooper, an infantry, a foot soldier, the one that dies first! I've been looking high and low for this but I've finally found it today.

All my other previous clone troopers have been of different ranks with coloured armour panels but this one is just plain white meaning it's the lowest rank of all but I want it, it's a good find thanks to Hasbro with their 30th anniversary series.

Damn Those Ants!

Recently we have had a series of ant problems in the house. Don’t know from what holes they crawled out from but they seemed to be everywhere and in the most unlikely places like the bathroom and the laundry room. Then they started appearing in the kitchen and the pantry. That was the last straw; we were on a war path with those pesky ants!

There were ant trails crawling from every crevices and cracks imaginable and tried as we might spraying them with non-toxic spray coz we don’t like to use toxic chemicals in the house, they kept coming back. Lastly we tried a product that looks like sand that you can just pour along the ant trail, you’re supposed to use that outdoor and not indoor but we didn’t have a choice anymore. This was our only last resort but it worked! The ants died as soon as they come into contact with the sand and now we haven’t had a problem with them returning, cross fingers! If they do come back I think we might have to get help from the professionals like Pest Control Chicago who can help you with any kind of pest controls be them ants, termites or rats!

Spread The Love

Narrowband linked his love to me and the least I could do is play along!

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion. You need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3. Take the adds from the blog that added you and place them in the “Originals” list.

4. Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO FOLLOW plugin to the list in the “My Adds” section. (Add no more than 5!) Let the people you’ve added know, so that they can keep the list going!

Here's my adds;

My Miracle Mom: Part IV

Mum called me up just before 8 in the morning today. She's never called me up so early in the morning before, it's like before 6 in Malaysia. Had me startled, what's wrong? I feared the worst but she said she couldn't sleep! She woke up and 3 in the morning, had her meds and tried to sleep but couldn't fall asleep. Said she had anxiety attack again, she gets that a lot. So we talked for a while and she hung up and I went to work.

Just now I gave her a call to see how she is. She's all fine now, she did go see the doctor and the doctor prescribed her some medicines which I think are probably vitamin pills just so she feels better. Doctors sometimes do that to reassure their patients. Damn you doctors! Well as expected nothing was wrong and she's all good again. Just another day in the day to day life of my miracle mum.

Utini!

It's a good thing my internet's back online or else I'll be going crazy any day now, it got fixed right after 8 o'clock this morning. Telstra technician even call to make sure...diu them!

Anyway life will be returning back to normal now, I hope and to start off on a new post today I just have to show you what I bought yesterday at Target, this is a rare Jawa figurine which I've never seen Hasbro making before. Well maybe they did but I've never seen one so I must have it!

So I'm going to shout "Utini!" like how Jawas cry out every time they get excited. It's pronounced "oo-teeney", some say it's their war cry but I've heard different also. Never mind, I'm happy to get one so UTINI for me!

Mine! Mine!

Today's post took place at the St. Kilda Festival that was 3 months ago! I didn't get a chance to post it because I was posting on my trip back then so here it is now.

Remember the animated movie Finding Nemo? Remember the annoying seagulls that went "Mine! Mine!" every time they find anything edible? And anyone who used to live in Australia would know we have to put up with these annoying birds everyday when we go to the beach.

But look! They're here at the festival. And they're causing a racket on the streets of St. Kilda squalling and crowing at any passerby but lucky there were just 2 of them.

They like to stick their beaks into ladies handbags and follow them around hoping to find something to eat and they're not shy about it either. Somehow these ladies thought they're kind of amusing.

But though annoying, they are quite popular with the children and lots of little boys and girls will come up to them and talk to them. In return they would sometimes give them show bags from the festival.

They tend to distract the traders as well, playing with their goods and posing for anyone who wish to photograph them. Cam whores to the max!

Girl: Hello Mr. Seagull, would you like some chips?
Seagull: Mine! Mine!

Love them or hate them, these seagulls were damn entertaining at the festival. I managed to capture a short clip of them creating havoc on the street, do watch it below.

Nen Nen Clouds

One morning last week, while on my way to work and sitting in a traffic jam I saw something that I've never seen before. A strange cloud formation appeared over the horizon not far from where I was.

This cloud formation looks really strange, rather lumpy or puffy like lumps of bags hanging down from the clouds above. Later I found out that they are called mammatus clouds and they are formed under certain conditions and usually heralding the coming of a cold front.

But if you ask me hor, they look like nen nen wor! As the name mammatus indicates so they can be known as nen nen clouds which I think sounds better. Don't you agree?

Planting Spring Flowering Bulbs

It's that time of the year again when the weather is turning cool and the days are getting shorter by the days. It's time to plant out my bulbous plants for Spring flowering. I do this every year without fail.

And if I forget to do so the bulbs will remind me like these Arab's Eyes bulbs are trying to do, sprouting their shoots out even before I had a chance to plant them out!

I will be planting these out in containers today, I like using terracotta pots like this and place a piece of crock over the drainage hole so the potting mix won't run off but still letting water drains freely.

Put in good quality potting mix to about 2/3 of the pot, add bulb fertilizer and mix well.

Choose the big strong bulbs for planting, placing them next to each other. Don't worry about cramming them too close coz they like it that way.

Fill up with more potting mix till the bulbs are all covered. Throw in more bulb fertilizer and water in well. Place the pot in a well lit position and wait for the plants to pop up over winter and the flowers to bloom in Spring! Here's how the Arab's Eyes look like last year. This has been another presentation from the Tukang Kebun Show!
