Made In Malaysia

When I went back to Malaysia in 2003 after being away for 13 years I discovered a drink that I learnt to love straight away and practically everyday when I was there I'd be drinking it coz its just so good!

I'm talking about 100 Plus the isotonic drink that restores your body's hydration and electrolyte balance, so says the manufacturer. But I like it because of its taste and because it tastes better than tasteless bottled water!

Here in Australia it is quite hard to find this drink because it hasn't catch up with the general population yet but even if you do find them like when I was pleasantly surprised to see them selling in a Safeway supermarket, they are overpriced and I just don't feel justified paying so much for it. 98 cents for a 325ml can! I'll drink coke which is cheaper.

One thing that's got more bang for your buck is these Foh San Mooncakes all the way from Ipoh which I posted last week. Thanks to all the people who supported us and do tell your friends and family about it. There's still plenty available and you can still grab some for the Mooncake Festival on the 1st of October. Priced at A$27.00 a box with the exception of the red bean paste at A$18.00 a box of 4 these little babies are flying out the door! Email me with your orders at wuchingofthewhills@gmail.com and have a great weekend!

I'm gonna miss 100 Plus when I eventually leave Malaysia. Don't like the relatively new "100 Plus Active" drink though.

There are lots of Electrolyticdrinks like that in Australia.
Anyway, 98 Cents is pretty cheap for a 375ml can. Over here, [in Perth], they're about $1.20 or more.
[Not that I drink from cans mind you!] :-)

Though I did notice, in Perth, things are dearer than when I was in Sydney. Only rent is more expensive in Sydney.

It didnt take too long for one out of the four boxes of mooncakes I ordered, to disappear....them old cronies of mine were not very hak-hei ! They loved them despite moaning abt havin' to cut down on sugar intake and expanding waistlines! Some more ah, dare to ask if i can order others like the green tea and coffee lotus! Love the packaging...so pretty. Thanks for the chance to sample Ipoh fare once more. Ipoh is still the best makan place.

BTW, Yeoh's Grocery store in Glen Waverley stocks 100-Plus.

I prefer Powerade over 100 Plus. And it's much easier to get them in Melbourne compared to the latter.

I spent 5 years growing up in s'pre, and I like you have a soft spot for 100 PLUS. I was shopping at the local Woolies when I spotted them today, I bought them out.. at least 11 cans were on the shelf. On special too $0.79

So drink up ... the most refreshing beverage from SE Asia!
